Re: FA17 Textbook AdoptionsIt's time to place your textbook adoptions for summer and fall 2017 classes! Book orders are due to us by APRIL 17. IF YOU WILL NOT BE REQUIRING A TEXT, KINDLY NOTIFY US SO WE MAY LIST THE CLASS AS "NO TEXT REQUIRED". On April 18, we will randomly select a faculty member from among all faculty who have submitted their completed orders. This member, along with the supporting ADC, will each receive a $25.00 Bookstore/Dden gift card for their efforts in meeting the due date.Previous winners include: Professor Brockman and ADC, Ellen Hoon! (Pictured is Textbook Manager Amy Holl (right), presenting Professor Brockman her prize). Please note the following dates:
" April 17 - Textbook adoptions for summer and fall terms due in the Bookstore
" April 18 - Drawing for $25 Bookstore/Dden gift card for faculty AND their ADC!
" May 8 - Buyback begins. Students will receive a better price for their books if they have been readopted for the next term. Timely adoptions permit the Bookstore to acquire more used books to sell and, consequently, offer a better buyback price, since we won't have to pay shipping costs. Bottom line: early adoptions benefit our students!
" July 28 - Deadline for submitting printed material and coursepacks.
" July 31-August 1 - Conduct shelf checks
" Tentative date: August 4 - Website open for student online textbook orders (Target Date).
" August 28 - First Day of ClassesPlease place your adoptions through the Bookstore website, www.dickinson.edu/store. Click the "Faculty Only" icon and follow the prompts. When you place your order online make sure you hit "submit". A confirmation email will be sent to you and your ADC by the Textbook Department once the adoption has been processed. If you don't receive this within a week, please contact us. You may also send us the author, title, and 13 DIGIT ISBN via email.New for fall: We will be offering textbook rentals and Verba price comparisons. This comparison feature will assist our students by enabling them to make educated price/value buying decisions.
If you will be requesting printed material from the Print Center, an order form from the Textbook Dept. will need to be completed and submitted along with your print-ready material or electronically sent filename. If copyright permission is required, this must be obtained through the library. Contact your department's library liaison for assistance.
If a title is cancelled after we have received the order, the academic department will be charged for the incoming and outgoing shipping.
Once we have completed the shelf check of all titles you are welcome to stop by the Textbook Department to verify the titles you have adopted. Don't hesitate to contact us with questions - we will be happy to help.(Bookstore Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM). Thank you!
